The December 2023 update of my writing activities.
New activity website
I’ve recently published a new website covering my writing work.
Available in both French and English, this website is using a Hugo Template I’ve made for this use-case. Originally, this template was made for a friend, but we decided to open-source it.

The Patient Daniel : English translation
My latest work, Le Patient Daniel, is currently being translated in English. I’m expecting to release this version at the end of the month, but so far no commitment. Currently, the book is around 40% translated.
Creating my own writing enterprise
Despite being a Freelance for my job, I don’t have my own company. In France, we have some possibilities to work as Freelance without being entreprise creators, it’s called “le portage salarial” (“salary porting”). To briefly explain, I have a work contract with a company that do the “salary porting”. Basically, their job is to fetch the income I’ve generated during my consulting activity, pay the various taxes, and pay me a salary. It’s a status that allow Freelances to have the same advantages as regular workers without the need to manage a small company.
So I’ve never had to create an enterprise.
But, to declare to the taxes my incomes from my writing activities, I’ve had to create a small individual business. It’s mandatory in France to create one for this kind of activity, it’s called the “artist-author” status. And it’s also very easy because the creation procedure and the accounting management is overly simplified for this status. So in a few weeks, it’ll be done.
Generative AI article series
My articles series about the practical usage of Generative AI has progressed a lot. So far, I’ve developed the following topics :

Two others are under development :

The last topic will be an explanation of the generic architecture the AI market actors are proposing to use their products and integrate them to the customer’s information system.
So far, I haven’t heard any news regarding the opportunity to publish them to the online IT news site I’ve proposed too. I know they’re a small team and have a lot of work, so I won’t complain or loose patience. It gives me the time to work on the writing. I still hope the project will be able to be published with them. If not, I think I’ll revamp the format and publish it as a book, as I did for Linux Explained. But I’m not sure the medium would be the best because the GPT and Stable Diffusion explanation diagrams are quite big.
