English version
Arrival at Neovel
I recently discovered the Neovel platform. It’s a slightly different concept to the publishing vectors I usually employ. With a focus on short chapters and serialised stories, they promote a format called web-novels, defined by more continuous chapters and published periodically. Readers can either wait a day for each chapter, or use a paid pass to unlock the rest.
Curious, I created my Author Profile on this site and decided to try it out with three books:
- Le mort qui n’existait pas (French version)
- Le patient Daniel (French version)
A few minor changes have been made for the occasion, without affecting the original story or narrative. The first was given chapters, four to be exact, as it had none, being a short story. The second was cut from the original eight chapters to fourteen to better suit the web-novel medium.
Only the original French version of Patient Daniel has been published, and I don’t think I’ll be adding the English version any time soon. As for Le mort qui n’existait pas, it is available in English.
Hang on, didn’t you say three and you list two?
And no, it’s not a mistake and you didn’t miss it. So I’ve taken the opportunity of this format to offer my next novel.
Something about a mountain
Entitled Echoes of the Metal Mountain (Part 1), this story explores the idea of a legend handed down among a nomadic people that would overturn historical and scientific knowledge. This journey into the heart of a vast western continent is an opportunity for one of the protagonists to learn more about himself and his past. For others, emissaries from a distant, imaginary world, the discovery of the nature of their destination will lead them to question their mission.

This new novel has 21 chapters totalling around 56,000 words for an estimated 200 pages. It contains the first part of the designed story, which will be completed by a second part. The story is finished and is currently under personal review. The English version is also in progress for a simultaneous publication.
A further announcement will be made as soon as the book is published.
Version française
Arrivée sur Neovel
J’ai récemment découvert la plateforme Neovel. Il s’agit d’un concept un peu différent des vecteurs de publication que j’utilise habituellement. Orienté chapitrage court et sérialisation d’histoires, ils promeuvent un format appelé web-novels défini par un chapitrage plus soutenu et publié de façon périodique. Ainsi, le lectorat peut soit attendre une journée par chapitre, soit utiliser des pass payants pour débloquer la suite.
Curieux, j’ai donc créé mon profil auteur sur celle-ci et ai décidé de l’expérimenter avec trois ouvrages :
Pour l’occasion, quelques légers remaniement ont été appliqués sans impact sur l’histoire et le récit original. Le premier a reçu un chapitrage, quatre pour être exact, dans la mesure où il n’en avait aucun car c’était une courte nouvelle. Le second a été redécoupé pour passer des huit chapitres originaux à quatorze afin de mieux correspondre au support du web-novel.
Seules la version originale française du Patient Daniel a été publiée, je ne pense pas que j’y mettrai la version anglaise dans l’immédiat. Concernant Le mort qui n’existait pas, celle-ci est également disponible.
Attends un peu, t’avais pas dit trois et tu en listes deux ?!
Et non ce n’est pas une erreur et cela ne vous a donc pas échappé. J’ai donc saisi l’opportunité de ce format pour également y proposer mon prochain roman prochainement.
Quelque chose à propos d’une montagne
Intitulé Les murmures de la montagne de métal (Partie 1), ce récit explore l’idée d’une légende transmise au sein d’un peuple de nomade qui viendrait bousculer les connaissances historiques et scientifiques. Ce voyage au cœur d’un grand continent occidental est l’occasion pour l’un des protagonistes d’en apprendre plus sur lui-même et son passé. Tandis que pour d’autres, émissaires d’un monde lointain et fabulé, la découverte de la nature de leur objectif les fera remettre en question leur mission.

Ce nouveau roman se présente sous 21 chapitres totalisant environ 56 000 mots pour environ 200 pages (estimé). Il couvre la première partie de l’histoire imaginée qui sera complétée par une seconde. Le récit est terminé et fait encore l’objet d’une revue personnelle. La traduction anglaise est également en cours pour la proposer le même jour.
Une nouvelle annonce sera faite prochainement une fois le livre publié.
